“Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” Proverbs 11:14
In the heart of Antioch, as the faithful gathered, the Holy Spirit’s presence was palpable. Acts 13:1-3 narrates the moment when the church, united in prayer and fasting, felt the divine nudge to send Paul and Barnabas on their mission. This pivotal moment teaches us the significance of seeking Godly counsel and community confirmation. Proverbs 11:14 reminds us, “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”
Imagine the echo of prayers rising to heaven, voices bound by purpose and love. The church understood that their mission was not individualistic but collective which means “Many eyes, one mission.” They recognized that together, under the watchful gaze of the Lord, they could avoid detours that might lead them astray. As Psalm 1:1-3 illustrates, those who walk in the counsel of the righteous thrive like trees planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in their season.
Psalm 1:1-3 says, “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law, day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.”
In today’s world, we too are called to seek the wisdom of those around us. Remember, “Counsel prevents detours,” and the guidance of our community refines our calling. Our paths may seem unclear, but when we lean into our spiritual family, we find clarity and strength. We are not meant to navigate life’s challenges alone; God has designed us for fellowship and support.
As we move forward in our journeys, let us prioritize the voices of wisdom that surround us. May we be open to the counsel of those who share our faith and purpose. Together, we can ensure that our steps align with God’s will, and in doing so, we honor both Him and each other. Amen. Proverbs 24:6 says, “Only with sound guidance should you wage war, and victory lies in a multitude of counselors.” Amen.
Prayer for the Day!

Help me to listen and discern the counsel that aligns with Your Word. May we boldly step forward together, united in mission and purpose. Let our lives be a testament to Your grace as we avoid detours and remain steadfast in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
