Cultivate a Lifestyle of True Worship! Part Two

“I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:12

True worship means living a lifestyle that proclaims the glorious honor of God. It means following His commands and honoring Him in all we do. This is how we show our true allegiance to Him, and it will bring us much peace and joy. When we truly worship God, it should be evident in everything we do. We should proclaim His glory, both with our words and our actions. We must experience the benefit of being part of God’s family by worshiping God in truth and in the Spirit.

One way to think about this is to imagine being at a party. You might see lots of people there talking and having a good time, but if you don’t actually join in and talk with them, you’re not going to have as much fun as if you did. The same thing is true with worship. When it comes to true worship, involvement is key. To enjoy the benefits of worshiping God, we must be actively involved in things that magnify His transcendent excellence.

2 Timothy 2:21 says, “If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.”

The benefits of worshiping with a true believer are vast. When one becomes involved in the worshiping community, they open up themselves to receive the blessings and gifts that God has for them. These include but are not limited to spiritual growth, increased faith, and a closer relationship with God. Additionally, by being in a worshiping community, one is surrounded by other believers who can support and encourage them on their spiritual journey. Whatever it is, the key is to focus on things that bring Him glory and honor.

Above all, a true worshiper celebrates with affectionate gratitude for God and His wonderful loving-kindness. They feel a sense of awe and wonder at the great love that God has shown them. They recognize all God has done for them and rejoice with praise and satisfaction. This leads to a desire to obey and serve Him out of love. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”

Prayers:
1. Oh Lord, let my life proclaim the glory and honor of God in Jesus’s name.
2. Holy Spirit, you’re welcome in my house, so feel free to use my temple. Amen.
