Decluttering to Reach Your Goals!

“Do not call to mind the former things; pay no attention to the things of old.” Isaiah 43:18

Living and winning are simple in their simplicity when we let go of the past negative influences that drain our energy and cloud our perception. Decluttering your physical and mental life can profoundly impact your ability to reach your goals. It could be as simple as cleaning your closet, deleting old emails, or unfollowing negative social media accounts. According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Just like how we accept this truth spiritually, carrying it into our physical lives is also essential.

Letting go of what no longer serves us frees up space for growth and progress toward achieving our dreams. Decluttering isn’t just about getting rid of things; it’s also about shifting your mindset towards a more positive outlook on life. So don’t get stuck living and whining about the errors, failures, or negative things that happened in your past life instead of moving forward. Or lost faith in God and are unwilling to believe that there is anything good out there. Let me encourage you; your complaining about the past doesn’t help you move forward; it will only make you feel frustrated and hopeless about the future that lies ahead.

2 Corinthians 4:4 says, “… the god of this world has blinded the unbeliever’s minds, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

Sadness and anger do not produce the strength to move forward; instead, it drains energy and makes you lose focus on what matters most now. You cannot change the past, but you can change your attitude toward the present moment. Don’t allow the past to hold you back from living a life of faith. Don’t let the devil claim victory over you. Anytime you find yourself whining and complaining about something that happened yesterday, remember that you are allowing the devil to take control of your life. Of course, it’s okay to think of what went wrong for a moment in other to make it better, but it’s not okay to dwell on it.

That’s why life with Jesus does not recognize your faults or shortcomings. He knows that God has given you the gift of grace and favor through Him for a reason. Today’s scripture says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” In other words, for abundant life to come into being, your past must not be reckoned with. Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Amen.

Prayer:
1. Psalm 51:10, Oh Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
2. Oh Lord, help me live a life of faith that I can trust in you more in Jesus’ name. Amen.
