Discerning the Moments! 2
“Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.” Matthew 2:2
The times when we are in a state of confusion is over, and it is time to look at what God’s word says about us or about the season. This is why I am so grateful for the wisdom in God’s words. He has given us the ability to see through all of these distractions and make sense out of them. He has given me the ability to see beyond my thoughts and emotions, leading to more clarity and understanding.
In today’s bible verse, we read that the wise man saw the star, and they discerned the moment of greatness to seek Jesus and worship Him. They were amazed by his power and glory. They knew that he was the one who will bring them into the light. Or don’t you know that without these wise men take note of God’s wisdom in their lives, they will never have a chance to experience the free publication in the book of life?
Hosea 14:9 says, “Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them.”
I understand that people are busy traveling from place to place this season, trying to find the best way to enjoy the holiday with family and friends. However, we need to be careful not to get caught up in others’ desires. It’s okay to celebrate Christmas, but it’s not okay for us to forget the reason for celebrating Christmas because Jesus is the reason for the season.
I believe that God has a plan for you, and He wants you to celebrate, but yet He doesn’t want you to miss the opportunity to experience his love. The wise men were busy like you and me, but out of their busy schedule, they sought Jesus, they ask for help, found Him, and worshiped Him because they discerned the moment of greatness. Proverbs 18:15 says, “An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.”
Prayer:
1. Thank you, the Lord, for your guidance in this season.
2. Psalm 119:66 -“Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments in Jesus name. Amen
