Do You See What I See? Part Three

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12

I see love overcoming all obstacles. The hope we experience during Christmas springs from the knowledge that we have a Savior who empathizes with our weaknesses and walks alongside us in this journey of life. So, amidst all the festivities and holiday cheer, we must not forget the true significance of this sacred occasion. Christmas is about more than just presents and decorations; it is about hope.

Hope is a powerful force that permeates the air during this time of year. It is the anticipation of something extraordinary, something that will bring light into our lives. For Christians, this hope is rooted in the coming of Christ, the Savior of the world. The birth of Jesus in Bethlehem centuries ago marked a turning point in human history, a moment of profound significance that gave hope to a world in need.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

The anticipation of Christ’s birth brings a sense of hope because it reminds us that God fulfills His promises. Throughout the Old Testament, prophecies foretold the coming of a Messiah who would redeem humanity from sin and bring salvation. The birth of Jesus fulfills these prophecies, and it reaffirms God’s faithfulness to His people. In the midst of a broken and troubled world, the birth of Christ offers hope that God is with us, working in our lives and guiding us toward a better future.

Hope during the Christmas season also stems from the reminder that we are not alone. God, in His infinite love, sent His only Son to dwell among us, to experience the realities of human existence. Jesus, born in humble circumstances, understands our struggles, disappointments, and fears. He is not a distant and unreachable God but rather a compassionate and understanding Savior, inviting us to cast our burdens upon Him and find rest. Amen. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavily laden, and I will give you rest.” Amen.

Prayer for Today!
May this season be a time for us to truly see the depth of God’s love for us in the extraordinary gift of Christ Jesus. Amen.
