Embracing New Beginnings: Praying for the Second Half of 2026

This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Gracious Father, we begin with praise and thanksgiving. Thank You for carrying us through the first half of this year — through known joys and hidden mercies, through answered prayers and quiet miracles. We rejoice because Your steadfast love has not failed us, and Your mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23). As we step into the second half of 2026, we welcome Your presence — come, Holy Spirit, fill our minds with Your wisdom, our hearts with Your peace, and our days with Your purpose.

Lord, as Israel once stood at the flooded Jordan, unsure of the path ahead, You called them to step forward in faith, and the waters made way (Joshua 3–4). Today, we hear again Your ancient and living word. We set down stones of remembrance for what You have already done, and we raise our eyes to the horizon You are opening. Where we have grown weary, renew our courage; where fear has mumbled its lies, let Your truth thunder. Lead us, Ark-bearing God, and we will follow wherever Your presence goes.

Joshua 3:5 says, “Joshua told the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.”

Father, speak over us Your promise of newness: “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19). Break the dry ground of our routines and let rivers of living water run in the wilderness of our doubts. We cling to Your faithfulness: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6). In our remaining months, reshape what is broken, rekindle what has cooled, and resurrect what we pronounced dead. Teach us to wait well, to work with joy, and to walk by faith and not by sight.

Good Shepherd, order our steps and steady our pace. Teach us to trust when the path bends and the map blurs: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6). Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands (Psalm 90:17). Bless our homes with unity, our labor with integrity, our conversations with grace, and our decisions with heavenly wisdom. Heal old wounds, prune unfruitful branches, and grant us hearts quick to forgive, quick to obey, and quick to love.

Now, send us into the second half of 2026 clothed in Your light and anchored in Your hope. Speak courage into our bones: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). Let Your joy be our strength, Your Word our compass, and Your presence our constant song. We receive Your blessing, we rest in Your promises, and we run toward Your glory — through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Romans 15:13 says, May “the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit we may abound in hope.” Amen.
