Embracing the Now – Savoring Life’s Simple Moments!
“Rejoice in the LORD, Oh you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful.” Psalm 33:1
Don’t wait for the perfect moment – make each moment perfect with praise. I understand that praise is often given to those who have done great and courageous acts, but it should also be given to those who are simply living a life worthy of admiration. This joy has grace for its resting place and boundless hope that helps us carry on through the toughest moments. We should take time every day to appreciate ourselves – our strength, courage, and resilience in the face of hardship. It’s easy to get weighed down by our responsibilities and expectations, so we must remember that true praise comes from within us first.
Self-love is the most important kind of love; it allows us to recognize our worth even when no one else does. When we look at ourselves with acceptance and understanding, we will find a sense of peace beyond compare. That’s why Apostle Paul emphasizes to us that we should “rejoice always.” In other words, we have to be practical about praising and rejoicing, even when we are stressed or frustrated. Because you can not continue to react negatively to everything life throw at you, though we are all human, and we are very prone to throw everything off when we do not have things in our way. However, you must acknowledge yourself in thy Lord and share with others how far you’ve come on your life journey.
Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will repeat it: Rejoice!”
I remember a story during the great depression around 2008, an older man who had been working hard toward retirement realized one morning that all his investments in the stock market were crashed. At first, he said, “This is not good news. It has messed with my retirement plan and made my net worth go from pride to hide. It has turned the easy street into a mean street….” But, in the end, he also said, let me share with you what I also discovered this morning; I have my wife, my children, grandchildren, a house to live, food to eat, clothes to wear, and above all “I HAVE A SAVIOR WHO WILL NEVER LEAVE ME.”
After I read his story, I realized that he still appreciates the grace of God over his life despite everything that happened to him. In everything that happened to him, he always gave thanks unto God. Through this, he found a solution to his stress and frustration. You too can navigate the fear of life by remembering the goodness of God in your life and rejoicing always. I understand that no negative report or incident is suitable to give God praise at times, but I encourage you to REJOICE. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, my lovely brothers and sisters. “Hallelujah! It is good to sing praise to our God, for praise is pleasant and lovely.” Psalm 147:1
