Fear Promotes Failure!

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

Do not expect to have positive results from negative investment. Any step you take out of fear has a little or no tendency of yielding a good result. Fear suggests we should avoid pain or something unpleasant or unjustified at all costs, even when the benefit outweighs the risk. We must never let fear win over our confidence.

I heard when John, a young boy in my neighborhood, was sharing his experience. When he was in high school, the school administration came up with a strict and rigid policy on students’ promotion. Even though it was just a little increase in the expected percentage, it moved him; the news spread on campus went around with fear in the pupils’ hearts, including him.

Romans 8:15 says, “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”

Considering John’s previous performance, he knew he could meet up with the school’s depend on, but the fear of failing the exam and not being promoted was in him. The exam eventually came; he wrote it and was unable to meet the demand for promotion. It was just an approximate that would make him fulfill the expectation.

That is what fear can do. It’s fully capable of bringing people down. It makes you see yourself as mediocre. Why fear, if believing, can do it? There are times God will show us a great idea to invest in, but fear of failing and losing won’t allow the manifestation of such an idea. The devil you are afraid of had been defeated a long time ago. Do not let him deceive you with fear that doesn’t exist. Fill your heart with God’s word and bring the strongholds of fear down in your life. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

I receive strength to work in faith, Lord. Every thought of fear is brought down in Jesus’ name.
