Freed, Yet in Shackles!

Freed, Yet in Shackles!

“You were bought at a price; do not be enslave by the world.”1 Corinthians 7:23

When you tied a goat in a place or chained it to a tree for a long time and then release it to go on a journey of freedom. Do you know that the goat might not leave that area, thinking that it has not been released yet or that it is still there? I am sure you have heard this story before, but if not, try to understand the analogy and don’t take it personally.

We are all slaves to our old desires and how we lived our life in the past, but we cannot let them control us anymore. We must learn to live in the present moment and accept what is happening now, rather than dwelling on the past. The anchor scripture tells us that we have been bought with a price, which is a pointer that the previous state of human in bondage resulted from the fall of man and woman from the garden of Eden.

Galatians 5:1 says, “For freedom, Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”

However, we have been set free with a cost, which is the blood of Christ; the blood of Christ freed us from the shackles the devil has placed on us, we have been released from fear, failure, and past mistakes; we have been freed from generational curses. We have been justified from every ordinance of old that limits us from fulfilling our God-given potentials. Despite being released, apostle Paul warned us that we should not place ourselves in bondage again the second time by delighting in pleasing the world rather than God.

You can not continue to remain where you were when you were enslaved and expect growth and change. It is better to be free than to stay in bondage and live like a child of God forever. Let your mind and spirit be free, whatever may be your outward condition, be different from mere external relations altogether. Refused to Accept defeats or disappointments as a result of scientific views or past occurrences.2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but power and love and self-control.”
