Friends can Make Complaint to Each Other!

Friends Can Make Complaints to Each Other!”

I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles.” Psalm 142:2

In today’s bible verse, the Psalmist finds himself in great distress, which leads him into a desperate situation where he poured out his heart to God to vindicate him by bringing vengeance on his enemies; the repeated words throughout this verse highlight the psalmist anguish. The status of David in the cave of Adullam was a state of utter destitution. He was persecuted by his fellow citizens, dismissed by Achish, and yet not joined by his relations or any other attendants, he took refuge in the cave and was there alone. But in that desperate situation, he was never filled with sorrow.

He had a friend in heaven into whose bosom he poured out his heart cry, which is always willing to listen to His distress and trouble. When danger looms, and fear is on every side, let us follow the example of David. And most importantly, let us follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus; remember when the Jews and Gentiles conspired against him and were all left alone in the garden and on the cross. The only companion he had was His father in heaven.

Philippians 4:6 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

There is an argument that we should not complain to God in prayers but be filled with faith that He has done it. That’s a lie from the pit of hell, God is more than willing to hear your cry of help and dependency on Him, and we are created in his image and likeness to function in Him and not as an alien to Him. There is no other friend like Him; pour out your heart to him and not your physical friends; Job was a man that relied so much on friends; let’s hear what he has to say. Job 16:20; My friends scorn me, but my eye poured tears unto God. Likewise, in Job 19:19; All my inward friends abhorred me, and those I loved are turned against me.

Brethren, your inward friends may abhor and scorn you when you need them. But God will never forsake you, for he loves your soul and will love to answer you when you cry to Him in your prayer. God is our greatest friend who is more than willing to hear our cry of help and dependency on Him. When we are in trouble, we can take refuge in Him and know that He will comfort and protect us. Isaiah 1:18 says, “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.

Prayer
1. Jesus, thank you for making me your friend and partaker of your divine nature (John 15:15)
2. John 15:14 says, “You are my friends if you do whatsoever I command you. Therefore, Lord Jesus, help me to fulfill my part in our friendly relationship.
