“If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there.” Psalm 139:8
In the busyness of life, it’s easy to feel overlooked or forgotten, especially during tough times. Yet, God’s word reminds us that He is not disengaged from our lives. Psalm 34:18 assures us that The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Just as a shepherd watches over his flock, ensuring no one is missing, God watches over us with even greater care and attention.
Consider the lilies of the field or the birds of the air—they neither labor nor spin, yet they are provided for by our Heavenly Father (Matthew 6:26-28). Jesus’ beautiful analogy highlights how much more valuable we are to God than these. If He meticulously tends to their needs, how much more will He care for us, His beloved children?
Zephaniah 3:17 says, “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
There’s a story that vividly portrays this truth—a child lost in a vast forest was found safely because their father never stopped searching until he embraced them again. Similarly, no matter how distant we may feel, God tirelessly seeks us out with open arms. This narrative mirrors the parable of the lost sheep, where the shepherd leaves the ninety-nine just to find the one that went astray (Luke 15:4).
Therefore, remember Proverbs 3:5-6 which says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Trusting Him means believing He is ever-present and actively involved in every moment of our lives. With this assurance, let’s face each day with renewed hope and courage, knowing that we are never alone; God is intimately engaged in every detail of our existence. Amen. Psalm 145:18 says, “The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call out to Him in truth.” Amen.
Prayer for the Day!
Oh Lord, we humbly pray for your guidance and strength to always cling to the firm foundation of your truth. We seek assurance in the knowledge that you are constantly present in our lives, never distant or indifferent. Grant us the wisdom to discern right from wrong and follow your teachings steadfastly. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
