“I, Paul, bid you goodbye in my handwriting. I do this in all my letters, so examine my signature as proof that the letter is genuine.” 2 Thessalonian 3:17
Inscribed in words divine, God’s written epistle captures the essence of a heavenly tale. With every stroke of His pen, love, and grace flow onto the pages, weaving a tapestry of hope and mercy. It is an invitation to journey alongside Him, letting His written love guide our pace. As we embrace this divine message, we are reminded of the unfathomable depth of God’s love for us. There is no judgment or condemnation in His embrace, only compassion and forgiveness. This epistle serves as a beacon of light, illuminating our path even in the darkest moments.
God has always found a way to reach every generation; He has spoken words, done mighty works, and written from centuries to centuries. When we come to light according to the gospel of John 3 verse 21, we become channels through which God reaches out to men, telling them of His desire, will, way, and laws. Apostle Paul admonished the Thessalonians to examine the letter he had written to them. In other words, there is the likelihood of letters within being altered and the message distorted. This could hamper the message sent to the people concerning their needs.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
Just like Paul’s letters with a seal or proof, God has also sent us His proof to ascertain the trueness of His message. God’s genuineness to us as His children are not debatable, but it is instructive to note that ‘like when men slept, the enemies could come and sow tares.’ Our message of God is sealed with the Holy Spirit’s signet, our universal similarity. Therefore, let us hold fast to this sacred text, for it holds the power to transform lives and stir hearts. As we immerse ourselves in its pages, we discover that it is not just ink on paper but a living testimony that transcends time and space.
As Christians, not all messages are true and right; we must be sure of what we consume and ensure that they are not harmful or nutritious to our bodies. Like Paul’s admonition to examine his signature, we have the right to test all true or false spirits. Lastly, most important are these questions; Are you carrying the valid message of the one who has sent you here? I hope nothing has infiltrated or altered the message you are carrying. If an integrity test is conducted on you, will it come out positive? Amen. Isaiah 40:8 says, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” Amen.
Prayer:
Father helps us keep track of ourselves in the right message we have received and heard as we also dispense it to others. Amen.
