Heal the Broken Hearted!2
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;” Luke 4:18
Perhaps someday you don’t feel like helping others since you have been hurt and rejected by the same group of people. But do you know that the love you showed during your painful moment will last a lifetime? However, you will need to forget your past heartbroken and start loving again.
Judges 11 explained that Jephthah, a mighty warrior who happens to be the son of a harlot, was sent out of his father’s house without inheritance. The same people that rejected him were also the ones who asked for his help when they were in distress. Do you know that the support and love he gave them help him to become a ruler in the place he was rejected? Judges 11
If Jephthah can let go of his broken-hearted to heal the broken heart of others, you too can. You can not be in pain forever because someone has hurt you and forget that someone else needs your love to live. You must be able to forgive your enemies and make peace with yourself.
Don’t allow the negative memory to store in your mind. Remember that God will always turn your life around for good when you comfort and console those who mourn. Christ gives us the light of hope for a new day, even when people rejected him. You too can do the same. Daniel 12:3 “Then the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
Job 42:10 says, “After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his prosperity and doubled his former possessions.” May the Lord give you the heart to forgive, forget, and love your enemies. God has made you a new creation; you are no longer a slave to fear, but you are a child of God.
