Hidden But Critical!

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:6

Every great achievement begins in obscurity, often within the heart — a lesson beautifully illustrated by the iceberg. Just as the majority of an iceberg remains hidden beneath the ocean’s surface, so too do our unseen victories lay the foundation for our visible successes. Matthew 6:6 reminds us that our private devotion is what attracts God’s blessings to our public endeavors.

Think of David, who spent years in solitude tending sheep, honing his skills and character long before facing Goliath. Those quiet moments of preparation, spent in communion with God, equipped him with the courage and faith needed for that monumental battle. Similarly, when we dedicate ourselves to nurturing our inner lives, we set the stage for significant breakthroughs.

Psalm 1:1-3 says, “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers. “But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.”

So remember, “Meditating on His word is like sipping from a stream; it nourishes the soul and quenches a thirst that the world cannot satisfy.” That soul must be thriving and fruitful. That’s why Psalm 1:1-3 depicts how our unseen moments of devotion nourish our souls, preparing us for fruitful lives filled with purpose and impact.

As you engage in those seemingly mundane, private victories, remember this simple truth: “What’s unseen sustains what’s seen.” In these quiet, foundational moments, you are developing the strength and resilience that will be vital for your future endeavors. Amen. Psalm 119:11 says, “I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.” Amen.

In times of uncertainty, let faith be your anchor, reminding you that every challenge is an opportunity for growth. As you seek solace in prayer and reflection, may you discover a renewed sense of purpose and direction. In Jesus name. Amen
