Hold Fast and Hold On! 3
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12
Life is not only founded on what we see in the physical realm or the physical world, but what takes place in the spiritual realm is a great challenge. Many people live their lives based on what they see, and they are often unaware or unwilling to realize that there is more in Spirit than just physical reality. And that has caused a lot to be lost in the confusion of lives. God’s purpose for life is perfected through His word.
Many lives seem meaningless because of the lack of knowledge of what happens in the spiritual life. Marriages break down, and families become separated because of attacks from the spiritual forces of darkness in heavenly places. Some businesses are destroyed, and the money disappears, all because they are lost in the flesh. Some people look for a better life, while some people are still searching for a purpose in life, they find themselves wandering through the wilderness.
Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
‘Seeing is believing’ is what many people say (it can be true) but forgot that there is much more in Spirit than physical reality. Understanding things in the Spirit and truth can help us understand the meaning of life and clear up any misunderstandings we may have with others, even our self. Understanding what goes on in the spiritual world and how it affects us can help us understand why God wants us to worship in Spirit and Truth instead of flesh and blood (John 4:24).
When God called us to worship in Spirit and truth, He does so because He knows that there something beyond the physical reality of life for us to discern and experience. That is why God encouraged us to embrace the Spirit of His Son, Jesus Christ. Through Christ in our hearts, the Spirit confers meaning and identity that help us cry out, “Abba, Father” for deliverance, breakthrough, and favor (Galatians 4:6). It’s not just about being a Christian; it’s also about living a life that is transformed through the Spirit of God in Christ. Romans 8:2 says, “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
Prayer:
1. Lord, I thank you because you are my strength and my salvation.
2. I am thankful for your grace and mercy.
3. Holy Spirit, I pray that you will help me be more like Christ in my living and doing.
4. Psalm 51:12 “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and uphold me with your free spirit.” in Jesus’ name.
