“However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.” Ephesians 5:33
Honored marriage is like a sturdy oak tree, rooted deep in the ground and standing strong against the winds of life. Choosing honor in marriages is the key to a successful and fulfilling relationship. The Bible verse Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.” This means that couples should treat each other with respect and purity to maintain a healthy marriage.
When both partners choose to honor their actions towards each other, it leads to triumph in their relationship. They create an environment of trust and love that allows them to overcome any obstacles they may face together. It is like a symphony orchestra blending perfectly harmoniously to create a beautiful and unforgettable masterpiece. Therefore, choosing honor also helps them avoid destructive behaviors such as infidelity or manipulation, which can lead to the breakdown of a marriage.
Ephesians 4:2-3 says, “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
Practicing honor requires humility and self-control. It may mean apologizing when you’re wrong or letting go of a grudge. But the rewards are worth it: deeper intimacy, increased trust, and a stronger bond between husband and wife. Remember, honored marriage is like a precious gem that shines brightly with its unique sparkle and beauty. It is a union between two people who have chosen to commit their lives to one another, and it should be cherished and respected above all else. A successful marriage requires effort, dedication, and sacrifice from both partners.
Just like a precious gemstone, each marriage has unique characteristics that make it special. No two marriages are alike, as each couple brings their own experiences, personalities, and values to the table. However, all successful marriages share common traits such as trust, communication, mutual respect, and unconditional love. It is a source of joy and comfort for both partners. When obstacles arise – as they inevitably will – the strength of the bond between husband and wife will help them overcome any challenges that come their way. 1 Peter 4:8 says, “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly since love covers a multitude of sins.” Amen.
Prayer:
1. Thank you, Jesus, for your faithfulness in our life.
2. May the Lord cleanse your marriage from frustrations, lies, anger, misunderstanding, and bitterness. May the Holy Ghost fire consumes every spirit of asunder in your marriage now (Mark 10:9). In Jesus’ name. Amen.
