How Your Choices Define You! Part Eight
“Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” 2 Peter 1:2
It is interesting to think about what we would do if we knew that our time on earth was short. This may be a scary thought, while others may see it as an opportunity for a fresh start. But, no matter how you feel about it, one thing is for sure: once your time on earth is up, you will no longer have the option of choosing what you want to do with life. After death, you will be living in one of two places – either in Heaven or in Hell.
Of course, some people might say that this isn’t really a choice and that our lives are predetermined by fate. But even if that’s the case, it doesn’t change that we still have the opportunity to choose what we want to do with our lives. We can choose to follow our destiny, or we can choose to go against it. It’s up to each person to decide what they want to do with their lives. As the proverb always says that “you can force a horse to the river, but you can’t force it to drink.” Likewise, the preachers will do their path as God leads them to encourage you to choose the right way, but they cannot force you to do it.
Colossians 1:28 says, “So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ.”
God has made life favorable in all circumstances for us by giving us a choice in Deuteronomy 30:19, saying, “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” He gave us an opportunity and pointed us in the right direction of our destiny to choose life. But yet, some people decided to choose the other way around to enslave their life. So, dear brethren, choose life.
The choice is ours. God has directed us to choose life over death. And that life is the abundant life of Christ. Jesus is the good Shepherd of life; I encourage you to follow him and do what he says. He will lead you through every situation. He will guide your path and help you enjoy your destiny. In John 10:8 -10, Jesus said, “All who came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Prayer:
1. Thank you for helping me to make the decision of life over death.
2. Father, grant me the strength to walk in your direction in Jesus’ name.
3. Numbers 6:24 – 26) May the LORD bless you and keep you; may the LORD cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the LORD lift His countenance toward you and give you peace in Jesus’ name. Amen
