How Your Choices Define You! Part Four
“Wisdom makes the wise person stronger than ten rulers in a city.” Ecclesiastes 7:19
Wisdom is like a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it becomes. A young man was in tears when he heard his rich dad died and knew that he wills him nothing except an option to pick one thing and leave the rest of the inheritance to his slave. He didn’t know how to react but to cry. Finally, the lawyer told him that he had to decide within seven days, or else everything would be given to his father’s slave.
While he was trying to decide which choice would be better, the slave began to celebrate his life with joy. Everyone else was making their own choices. Some people say it will be better to choose money because with money comes power. Others say it is better to choose the company because you can have all your needs to be met with the company. Remember, every decision we make shapes the person we become, whether it was chosen for us or not.
“For wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense: but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to them that have it.” Ecclesiastes 7:12
However, the young man begins to pray and search for wisdom. He just knew that he would be okay with his life if he could choose his father’s desire. On the seventh day, the young man and slave were called by the lawyer for their inheritance. The young man was asked to choose the one thing he preferred from his father’s properties. The young man chooses the slave who had been given the right to inherit all of his father’s property because He who owned the slave had a right to inherit all of his father’s property.
The same goes for you as well. Have you been given an option to decide between two options? What is your choice? Do you seek more wisdom and knowledge from God and other people for yourself gods or do you seek something else? Because every choice you made today will make tomorrow’s future better than yesterday. Deuteronomy 30:19 says, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore, choose life that you and your seed may live.”
Prayer:
1. Oh Lord, I thank you for allowing me to be alive today despite all the wrong decisions in the past.
2. Holy Spirit, help me to choose my heavenly father’s desire in every decision I make in life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
God bless you and your ministry in everlasting blessing!
Amen
