Is It Only Being a Devote Christian?

After meditating on what the bible calls a devout man or woman, this question pops up in my heart, that who then can be saved? Before I reveal the answer to that question, we need to discuss the meeting between Peter and Cornelius. (Acts 10:1-35). Cornelius was a devoted man who fears God, he was a good man, and he had a habit of prayer. He is always helping people; some of his servants were religious.

However, the Holy Spirit told Cornelius to send for the man called Peter, who resides in Joppa, who will tell him what to do to be saved. That sounds compelling; you might be thinking, ‘why should a devoted man be informed by someone who has not been educated enough to show him what to do? Being a devout Christian is good, but it is not enough to qualify you into the kingdom of God if you lack the main purpose. Because It is a process of righteousness that qualifies you to gain entrance into the kingdom of God through Christ Jesus.

In Luke 2:25–35, Simeon was ‘Just and devote man’ of faith. This means he had faith in God and his power. He was a priest in the house of God in Jerusalem, but he has not received the salvation he needs to complete the journey of life. That is, the Holy Spirit visited him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And when he saw Christ and hold Him in his arm, he gives praise to God and says ” “Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation.” you might think that it’s not so important to know how Jesus came into being.

Brethren, there is no other way to eternity than to know and follow Jesus. Until we come into alignment with Christ, the bible said our righteousness is just like a filthy rag. At times, we think God is happy with the church because we are incredibly increasing in numbers, yes. There is a joy in heaven over that dimension of achievement. But He is interested in the total number of those that are in alignment with Christ. So that the activity and the current agenda of heaven will find its way through them to manifest on Earth.

Psalm 143:2 says, “do not bring Your servant into judgment, for no one alive is righteous before You.”

Prayer:
Father, give me the ability to walk with you till the end and to stand firm like the tree standing beside the river in Jesus’ name. Amen
