John 10:10!
“The thief comes only that he might steal and might kill and might destroy. I came that they may have life and may have it abundantly.” John 10:10
This is a promise from Jesus, to give us not just life, but life in abundance. How do you view life in abundance? It is effortless to think of those who have numerous houses, cars, money, and other forms of property as living in abundance. This is only true from our earthly perspective.
Just like you have pictured it, can you also imagine if all those things are taken away in a minute from such a person? Does the abundance still exist? I know it wouldn’t take much effort or time to tag such a person as inferior. However, this is not the type of life Jesus is offering us.
There is a life that is ever in abundance; it is a blessed life. Such a life can only be offered by Jesus alone. When you come to Christ, you receive a new life. You receive an everlasting life that is full of hope and glory. It is a life that know peace and joy, either on earth or in heaven. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
“All this” here means anything you could desire; in as much as it is in alignment with the will, it will be added. So you don’t have to lack anything.
The most profound aspect of the abundant life Jesus has given us is eternal life, a life that doesn’t end. It goes into a glorious infinity. Jesus has offered you this life; all we need to do is accept His offer and cherish it. Philippians 4:19 says, “my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Prayer:
1. Thank you, Jesus, for allowing me to live a life of abundance.
2. Lord, I receive the life that is embedded in you
