Knowledge is Power.

Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water. John 4:10.

Ignorance is one of the very worst things that could ever happen to a believer and hence, the need to keep learning from the master’s feet. However, some things are not learned by reading or by attending schools, symposium, conferences, or seminars; they are learning as we obey and follow God in all the simplest form possible. Jesus in the above passage was related with a woman who by physical nature should have nothing to do with the Lord, but the grace of God which knows no boundary brought her close.

This magnitude of her ignorance of the ways of God was confronted when she stood with Jesus right there beside the well. This is one of the things that happen to you when you come into the presence of God daily in word, worship, and prayer. The gift of God is brought close to us to break the mountain of our ignorance and equip us with the right knowledge that we might enjoy a good life daily.

“Knowledge without character is like Politics without principle.” Frederick Lewis Donaldson. It is essential for believers to know what they are facing, or it will become a character without this knowledge; it becomes challenging for them to have a victory over the situation. The Bible says, my people, perish for lack of knowledge.”

Knowing God equipped us to know the gift of God, the way we relate to God in word, worship and prayer will change as we shall engage rightly the door of opportunity that will be daily opened to us. Jesus was not bluffing while talking with the lady; He can do more than your reason could fathom; the woman was seeing a man in need, instead of seeing a man of great supply. What about you? What do you take Christ for? How do you see Him in your life?

If you look at the world around you, then there is no doubt that God has a plan for you to be your ever help in time of trouble. Therefore, “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:” Isaiah 55:6.
