“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3
What God has appointed does not need to arrive by ordinary means. The years may feel heavy, and your prayers may come through tears, but delay is not proof that God has forgotten you. You can trust His wisdom and still cry, “Lord, accelerate what You have appointed!” Holy surrender does not silence earnest prayer.
Abraham and Sarah waited for the promised son, and Genesis 21:1–7 records that Isaac arrived at the time God had spoken. Their story reminds us that “A long wait cannot cancel a sure word.” Habakkuk 2:3 says, “though it tarry, wait for it.” Isaiah 60:22 joins divine timing with divine hastening, while Ecclesiastes 3:11 declares that God makes everything beautiful in its time.
Isaiah 60:22 says, “The smallest family will become a thousand people, and the tiniest group will become a mighty nation. At the right time, I, the LORD, will make it happen.”
Perhaps you are weary of waiting for clarity, healing, or an open door. Bring that weariness into God’s presence; you do not have to disguise it as strength. Ask boldly, but leave the answer and its timing in His hands. “God’s appointed moment can outrun your expectations.” His timing can suddenly turn. Until then, His presence remains your refuge.
Over your waiting, I declare this hope: the Lord is faithful, and your dependence on Him is not wasted. May His Spirit strengthen you to obey before you see. Take one faithful step today: make peace, serve someone, or complete the task already entrusted to you. Faith prepares with open hands, refusing to force what only God can fulfill. Amen. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Amen.
Prayer for the Day!
Father, thank You for keeping Your word. Lord, teach me to wait with faith, and bring Your appointed purposes to pass in my life. Hasten what You will, heal my impatience, and keep my heart near Yours. Lord, accelerate what You have appointed, according to Your perfect wisdom in timing and for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
