“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.” Daniel 6:3

Excellence is evangelism. Before someone hears your testimony, they may encounter your work: the care you take, the promise you keep, the detail you refuse to neglect. Your ordinary assignment can become a holy offering. So, let this cry rise from your heart again: Lord, anoint me for excellent work—not to magnify my name, but to make Your goodness visible.

Bezalel’s craftsmanship reminds us that God’s Spirit empowers practical skill. God filled him with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to design and create for the tabernacle (Exodus 31:3–5). Daniel distinguished himself because an excellent spirit was in him (Daniel 6:3). Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men,” directing our good works toward the Father’s glory (Matthew 5:16). Remember, SKILL plus SPIRIT equals SIGNAL: Excellence in execution combined with spiritual intentionality can point beyond us to God.

Proverbs 22:29 says, “Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will be stationed in the presence of kings; he will not stand before obscure men.”

Do not despise the task before you. Study, practice, revise, and pray. Answer kindly. Honor deadlines. Admit mistakes. “Craft reveals calling.” “Excellence earns entrance.” Yet neither skill nor opportunity determines your worth; Christ already loves you. Work from that love, not for it. Be sharp and Spirit-led, letting devotion shape both your standards and how you treat people.

Over you, I declare this calling: your work is not outside God’s concern, and your gifts belong in His service. May His Spirit strengthen your integrity and steady your hands. Put faith into action today: correct the overlooked error, give credit honestly, and serve someone who cannot repay you. Let excellence carry humility, and let humility make room for Christ. Amen. Matthew 5:16 says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”

Prayer for the Day!

Lord, thank You for skill and favor. Forgive my carelessness and pride. Anoint me for excellent work; teach me to prepare faithfully, serve lovingly, and persevere prayerfully. When no one notices, remind me that You see. Let my work witness Christ, and let every good thing bring You glory. In Jesus name. Amen.
