When it was Esther’s turn (the young woman Mordecai had adopted, the daughter of his uncle Abihail) to go to the king, she asked for nothing beyond what Hegai, the king’s eunuch in charge of the harem, suggested. And Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her. Esther 2:15
Hear this: Favor frames final touches. As October draws toward its close, bring your unfinished prayers and weary hopes into the Father’s presence. He sees the courage it took to keep believing. Whisper this prayer from your heart again, “My Father, seal my October with favor!” The month’s hardest moments need not have the final word; entrust its ending to His faithful hands.
Esther’s story reminds us that favor is God’s gift, not merely human applause. Before her selection as queen, she “obtained favor in the sight of all them that looked upon her” (Esther 2:15). Jesus also grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and people (Luke 2:52). So, we pray with Psalm 90:17: let God’s beauty rest upon us and establish the work of our hands.
Luke 2:52 says, “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
Perhaps your October holds unanswered applications, strained relationships, or work nobody notices. Do not confuse an unfinished task with an abandoned life. Remember, “Grace paints the edges, but Favor finds function.” So, let God’s kindness shape how you serve, speak, reconcile, and persevere. Favor finishes what faith started—not always according to our timetable, but under the care of the One we trust.
Over your remaining October days, I declare this blessing: may the Lord strengthen your hands, steady your heart, and guide your steps. You shall finish well in Jesus’ name. Put faith into action: send the application, offer the apology, complete the honest work. Like Esther, take your next step with humility rather than striving for approval. Favor finishes. Amen. Psalm 90:17 says, “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands.” Amen.
Prayer for the Day!
Father, thank You for favor. Draw near to every tired heart reading these words. Beautify and establish my outcomes according to Your wisdom. Forgive my anxious striving; teach me faithful obedience. Seal my October with Your favor, and let every completed task and surrendered hope bring glory to Jesus. Amen.
