Overcome the World!
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
The world system is in total enmity with God, Christ, and Christians. All that pertains to the world is the Antichrist. Thus, Christians are cautioned never to show affection to the things of the world nor cultivate their ways of life. Jesus’ death on the cross signified one of the significant victories He won for us.
Christ’s death has given us victory over the world. As a believer in Christ Jesus, you have been instructed not to love the world, then the love of the father is not in you. When your heart is set on earthly things, you differ not from the dangerous enemy of your soul – the devil. There are many reasons why the world system detests you and regard you as an enemy because you turn your back against them: lifestyles, raging persecution, immoral acts, perversions, corruption, self-enjoyment or pleasures, ideas and philosophy, traditions, cultures and lots more.
Your victory in Christ covers all of these worldly affairs, and you must stay out been pure and holy so as not to become oppressed or obsessed by any. Your victory over this world doesn’t just come until you acknowledge the victory of Jesus over sin, death, and Satan. You must live a life full of faith in Christ and also praying fervently to put all these woes above under your feet.
The Lord is with you always, and he will never leave you nor forsake you. For you to have peace, Christ overcomes the world, and for the peace to continue to reign, you must hold on to Him. In any circumstances of life that may arise, let Him be your alpha and omega. Psalm 85:8 says, “I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.”
1. Lord Jesus, let the victory of the cross be seen in my life.
2. I reject the confusion and frustration of the world system in Jesus’ name.
3. I will never go back to the world anymore
