“Commit to the LORD whatever you do; he will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3
In our journey through life, the decisions we make shape not only our present but also pave the way for our future. Just as a gardener carefully selects the seeds to plant in order to harvest the best crops, we must also purify our decision-making process. Proverbs 16:3 encourages us to commit to the LORD whatever we do, and he will establish our plans. This powerful verse reminds us to align our choices with God’s will, ensuring that our decisions are nourished by faith and guided by His divine wisdom.
Imagine a river that flows smoothly towards its destination, its path clear and unobstructed. However, when debris and pollution taint its waters, its flow is hindered, causing stagnation and chaos within its once-pristine currents. Similarly, allowing impure motives or external pressures to cloud our decision-making disrupts our spiritual growth and connection with God. Therefore, it is important to constantly seek clarity from the Lord through prayer and meditation on His word.
1 John 5:14 says, “This is the confidence that we have toward God, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
Let us consider the story of Joseph in Genesis 37-50. Despite being betrayed by his brothers and facing unimaginable trials, Joseph’s unwavering faith in God guided his decisions. He chose righteousness over resentment, even in life’s darkest pits. Through God’s providence, Joseph rose from a slave to become Pharaoh’s trusted advisor; his purified decision-making process delivered him and an entire nation during the famine. Joseph’s story exemplifies how purified faith-based decisions can lead to transformative outcomes beyond human expectations.
Ultimately, purifying our decision-making means integrating God’s teachings into every choice. Let each decision be like seeds planted in fertile soil – chosen wisely and nurtured with love and faith in God’s plan for us. By doing so, we grow closer to achieving our spiritual goals and living a life that mirrors the purity of Christ’s love for humanity. Thus, through purified decisions made in tandem with divine guidance, we navigate life’s complexities with grace and emerge victorious in spirit. Amen. Proverbs 16:33 says, “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.” Amen.
