Resistance is Power: Strategies for Change!
“Though the LORD is on high, Yet He regards the lowly, but the proud He knows from afar.” Psalm 138:6
It is required of everyone in a race of the kingdom to do so with wisdom and understanding. Everyone must have an understanding of what qualifies and what can disqualify them from finishing the race. Our knowledge of God, who He is, and whom He represents in our life is very important to our walk with Him and our Christian race.
It is surprising to know that the dimension of the Lord captures the topic for today’s devotion. He respects yet resists. The Lord respects the lowly and humble but yet resists the pride and high at heart. He even resists the proud afar off. Humility is one of the main rules of our walk with God. At times what makes one constantly in a repeated cycle or demotion could be a lack of knowledge. Understand the rules of walking with God.
Psalm 40:4 says, “Blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, who has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.”
Though He is high and dwells in the Highest, not only in height but also in greatness and majesty, he respects the humble. David testifies that He remembers the lowly in their low estate. What have you denied yourself off because of your haughty heart? Before destruction comes, is a haughty heart.
The Lord desires to uplift you, but you have to play to the rule. Humility and lowliness of heart is the key to get the Lord to respect and uplift you. Learn of the Lord, for He is meek and of a lowly heart. James 4:6 says, “But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Prayer:
1. Psalm 113:4 “The LORD is exalted over all the nations, His glory above the heavens.”
2. I exalt you oh, Lord God! I praise your name for my salvation.
3. Lord, I desire a humble heart. Teach me to be meek and lowly at heart in Jesus’ name. Amen.
