Rest on God’s Direction!
“And they did not thirst. When He led them through the deserts; He caused the waters to flow from the rock for them; He also split the rock, and the waters gushed out.” Isaiah 48:21
It is essential and worthwhile that every believer should desire God’s leading. When humankind has the divine leading of God, it saves lives from disappointment and stress. Remember that God led the Israelite into the wilderness, and throughout their journey, they never lacked anything they desire.
I know it sounds strange if someone said God leads them into the desert where there is no green plant which bears fruit for food, no water, no security of lives and properties, no shelter, no social amenities, etc. to go there and live to fulfill a purpose. The Israelite did, and yet they did not lack any good thing, even the evil that befell them was as a result of their rebellion against God.
No environment is terrible for us to strive in and fulfill purpose in as much as God leads us. No business is not profitable in as much as God leads us into it. The determination of our success is God, not the environment, the academic qualification, age, or family background. When God leads us into any place, He makes the necessary provisions available for us.
God doesn’t place humanity on earth for suffering, but He has given us different promises concerning our lives, and He has also given us His word. However, we must obey and follow what His word says, then we will flourish. Lean not upon your understanding; instead, ask God, and He will lead you. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
1. Father, I appreciate you for your directions over my life; keep directing my steps in all areas of my life in Jesus’ name.
2. Keep me focused on the things that are important to maintaining a lifestyle of peace, and keep my mind open to meditate on your word.
