Season of Love: Stop and Smell the Rose!

Season of Love, Stop and Smell the Roses!

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” 1 John 4:18

When I was growing up, I always heard the saying “stop and smelled the roses.” But, I never really understood what it meant until I experienced it for myself. For me, it means to take a step back from the busy world and appreciate the little things. And to appreciate that little thing of yours, means you are showing some love for it. In our fast-paced society, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos and lose sight of the truly important things. We’re so focused on our to-do lists and meeting deadlines that we forget to take a moment to enjoy life.

The fast-paced society mind is a state of mind that is full of stress and anxiety. But when you fully appreciate this season of love, you will realize that It’s a place where you can relax and let go of all your worries. When you’re in this state, you’re able to connect with your intuition and inner wisdom to do the right thing at the right time. That’s why the Bible said God connects more with a human being by showing love and compassion than any other emotion such as fear or anger because He knew that ‘hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.’

John 13:34 says, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”

Solomon said, “Mighty waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. Therefore, if a man were to give all the wealth of his house for love, his offer would be utterly scorned (Song of Solomon 8:7).” In other words, love is unpurchasable. Therefore, whatever we are chasing around in our hearts to forget our loved ones is not worth pursuing. Take, for example, if Jesus had chased worldly possession for himself, we would never have been chasing after him. Yet, despite everything the devil offered him, he still pursued to die for us unconditionally. No wonder Romans 5:8 says, “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Brethren, showing unconditional love is a great way to enjoy our peace of mind. Therefore, stop and smell the roses today before time runs out. If you show true love, it will help you rediscover and reconnect with your true nature and find your authentic self because through it, you will find a place of solace and refuge from the busy world. Remember, you don’t have to meditate or go on a retreat to access it. You can find it in the quiet moments when you remember someone for good, make someone smile, be kind to yourself, and most importantly, show love without anything in return. 1 John 3:16 says, “We know love by this, that Jesus’ laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters.”
