“But not all of them welcomed the good news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our message?” Romans 10:16
In today’s digital age, information is readily available at our fingertips. With a simple click, we can access a plethora of voices, reports, opinions, theories, and philosophies on any given topic. Just like in Moses’s day, when the Israelites encountered various voices and influences, we too are faced with overwhelming information vying for our attention. But amidst this chaos of ideas and beliefs, one question remains: Whose report are you going to believe? Remember, a witness does not merely consume news but engages critically, discerning authentic stories from fabricated ones.
Isaiah 53:1 reminds us that Who has believed our message? In a world filled with conflicting narratives and fake news, it can be challenging to discern the truth from the noise. However, we must approach this task with critical thinking and discernment. We must not succumb to skepticism but shift our perspective from being mere skeptics to becoming witnesses. Numbers 13 narrated the different reports brought to Moses when Spies were sent out of the congregation of Israel children to go and check out the land God had promised them. Moses sent out all the tribes, one man each, to spy out the land, and they came back with different reports.
Numbers 13:30 “Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
Ten spies fearfully present the report, saying, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” However, Joshua and Caleb, in faith, said we could take what God had promised to give them. If you were like Moses, whose report would you believe? The ‘WE CAN’ or ‘WE CANNOT.’ These are two words that many have used to describe their faith and destiny in life. The word’ we can or cannot’ is a powerful one. However, we must remember that every prophecy or report that contradicts God’s word is a lie. Remember, embracing our role as witnesses allows us to see beyond the surface, uncovering the hidden truths that skeptics may dismiss.
Therefore, I encourage you to shift from skeptic to witness to unlock the door to a world where every moment becomes a masterpiece waiting to be discovered. Remember, the word of God is yes and amen, but only if we believe it wholeheartedly. It does not matter how many giants are on our way, how many mountains we have to climb, or what kind of dread that comes from the unknown; if God says it’s okay, then we should do it because every promise through Christ is yes. 2 Corinthians 1:20 says, “For all the promises of God are “Yes” in Christ. And so, through Him, our “Amen” is spoken to the glory of God.”
Prayer:
- Oh Lord, I believe your word for my every living moment.
- I receive grace to discard every contrary report that is not aligned with the word of God in Jesus’ name.
