Sound Mind, Not Fear!
“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise— in God, I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Psalm 56:3-4
What has been your fear lately that you have been so afraid of everything related to such a thing? How did it affect your life today? Are you improving or diminishing when you let fear dominate your life? When I think about what fear can do and the damages I’ve done to myself by embracing it in the past, I’m reminded of 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love and a sound mind.” Fear can make you feel like there is nothing good about you.
I read a story about a young boy who came home late at night from chasing a bird’s nest. When he arrived home, his parent chastised him for staying a while until the night before returning to the house. While the parent continues to scold him, the boy’s mom makes a remark, “I am surprised fear did not make you come home on time.” “Fear? I don’t know what it is. I don’t know fear as one of my friends! Or what fear is! Dad, do you know what fear is?” The boy asked. The whole arguments were over after the boy interjected with faith speech.
Psalm 27:1 says, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall, I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Brethren, what is your faith speech? Do you know what fear is? And if you know it, do you embrace it and let it take control of your life? Fear can be described as the seed sown to reap failure (fails). When fear is sown, great is the harvest of failures. No major or significant life can live in an atmosphere of fear and fully prosper. It is indisputable that life offers many uncertainties such as life itself due to daily life crises, the possibility of the future, the uncertainty of the economy, and so on.
However, let me remind you that these uncertainties seemingly appear minute. Still, underneath every fear, there is discouragement, indecisiveness, insecurity, reluctance, laziness, and procrastination that falls on the seed of fear that has been sown. Even when you embark on a very tending successful and profitable endeavor, the seed of fear that you have sown rapidly grows and leads to a harvest of failure. I pray for you today that you will not harvest failure due to fear in Jesus’ name. Amen. Jesus said, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; also believe in me. John 14:1
Prayer:
1. This day by the Blood of Jesus, I break and destroy every yoke of fear in Jesus’ name.
2. I am overcome with joy. My heart is filled with peace and joy through the blood of Jesus that made me whole.
