“The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it” John 1:5

It is a well-known phenomenon that darkness disappears when there is light. And no matter how thick the cloud of darkness could be, light is easily noticeable even at its slightest glimpse. In the beginning, as we read from the scripture, God created heavens and the earth, but due to the devil activities on earth, the earth suffered damages and was in total darkness.

A point came when God wanted His authority and dominance to be fully implemented on earth. So, He decided to make everything perfect, but something was wrong with earth. The master of darkness has messed it up; the earth was disordered and void. God in His supremacy knows all that is needed to get rid of the darkness in this world. He knew how, where, when, and why everything was going wrong. He would have painted or intuited it, but rather He spoke the words “Let there be light (Genesis 1:3).” At His commands, a light appeared, and darkness vanished, and He saw that the light was good.

Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”

Dear reader, this sounds like what we have heard from children’s classes or what we watched from the creation of story movies. But, you might ask, how does this apply to my life? First and foremost, it is very simple – God created us into this world in His image. But as we advance in age, we face challenges, encounter troubles, and sometimes sins crept in, which gave room for the king of darkness to cloud our “good nature of God” with darkness. Some are even burdened with family issues, work, finances, health, relationship, academics, etc. But we all have a way of bringing light to that darkness through the spoken God’s word.

We might have suffered for long because we are in darkness and void of the light needed to bring us freedom. All you need to do right now is to walk in understanding of the scripture in Genesis 1:4-5 and John 1:5; proclaimed light to every aspect of your lives that have been subjected to darkness. No life can ever fulfill potential while in darkness, proclaim and live by those words daily- Let there be light. Matthew 12:37 says, “For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words, you will be condemned.”

Prayer:
1. Lord, let your light begin to shine forth in every dark place in my life, family, work, academic, and other aspects of my life.
2. Isaiah 3:10: God wants me to tell you that “it shall be well with you, for you will enjoy the fruit of your labor in Jesus name. Amen!
