The Cross! 2
“As for me, I will never boast about anything except in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. The world has been crucified to me through the Cross, and I to the world.” Galatians 6:14
The Cross is what most believers are not bold enough to talk openly about because they don’t want others to see them as a follower of Christ. But they forgot that it was at the Cross that burden was lifted from their shoulders. It was at the Cross that life was preserved by the blood of Jesus Christ because, without the Cross, life would be meaningless.
The Cross is not something we should take for granted, because it recalled the faithfulness of Christ and his sacrifice. It reminded us of how much God loved us and gave himself for our salvation. For “The Cross is the preserver of the whole universe, the Cross is the beauty of the Church; the Cross is the might of kings, the Cross is the confirmation of the faithful, the Cross is the glory of angels and scourge of demons.” Unknow.
The Cross is the final resting place of all sufferings and sins. It is the last resting place where Christ’s blood flows from his body to wash away all iniquity of humanity. This is the place where Christ redeemed the benefits of his Passion because it represents the end of suffering and death.
Therefore, the boasting in the Lord’s Cross is a sign that you crucified with Christ in your heart. Everything you do, either by an act of faith, love, prayer, and dedication, point you towards Jesus Christ because you are not by yourself but by Him that lives in you. Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”
- Lord, thank you for all that I have done to deserve this great reward.
- I am so grateful for THE CROSS and the salvation that you have made for me.
