The Humble Mind! 2

“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Matthew 23:12

The nature of a humble mind is like that of a palm tree that is wind resistant and not easily uprooted by any storm. Most palm trees declared victories against any storm that comes their way. They were never defeated, not because of their strength or tallness, but because they learned how to bend themselves during the storms of life. Because of their humility during the storm, they later become productive. This is why we should always be humble when it comes to the world around us.

The bending of ourselves when we have it all or in the face of adversity is one thing that can help us claim victory and make lives better. Life becomes more fruitful if we learn to be humble. The best way to acquired wisdom and win is through humility because when we are humble, our minds will be more open to better ideas and opportunities. We will be able to see things from a different perspective and understand them better.

Philippian 2:5–8 says, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross. Therefore, God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

Those who are wise know when to stand and when to bend because they know that they carry a graceful droop of the branches loaded with fruit. It is only the dry tree with nothing produce refused to bow its branches and fall. If you want to be honor and enjoy the fruits of your labor, then you must learn to walk with grace and not let your pride take over. God wants you to enjoy life in all its glory and beauty without been wasted by pride or greed.

Pride has nothing to give humankind rather than disgrace and self-pity, but humility gives wisdom in every situation. Humility is the key to success, peace, and joy in life—that’s why Jesus Christ encourages us to learn from Him in everything we do. Matthew 11:29 “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Prayer:
1. Lord, help me to be humble and humble in spirit.
2. Psalm 25:9 “He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way.” Lord, lead me in the right way in Jesus‘ name. Amen!
