The Ideal of Generosity!

The Ideal of Generosity!

“The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25

There are very few people who don’t consider this thought of kindness. Being generous is just beyond normal human activities; it is indeed Godly. Man cannot walk with God without a heart ready to give freely, for our God is generous indeed to have granted us all things, including His Spirit. To be generous is to be willing to give out, take from our blessedness, and bless others.

When others are in need, a generous person observes even from the slightest opportunity, he gives above and beyond to meet that need. It is beyond political connotation as many people put it to be. Such people don’t give because they expect a repay or reward. His core reward is to make someone blessed and happy. Besides, the secret to receiving is giving. And if you want to be blessed, you must learn to be a blessing.

Acts 20:35 says, “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

The generous soul is rewarded and will be satisfied by giving. Significantly few people don’t consider this generosity as an essential part of life that is needed to be fulfilled. The liberal soul is like a sower who scattered the seeds of generosity in the heart of others in all ways possible and ended up with a harvest of abundance. The other keeps back the seed of generosity in their hands were caught up in greediness, selfishness, envy, and ended up with nothing but misery.

If it is to have the blessing of God upon its ministry, the church must learn to properly care for the servants of God that the Holy Spirit has given to them by Christ Jesus. Most times, only what members know to do is keep asking and forget their Shepherd’s needs. The Bible says, “those that water shall also be watered.” It is meant for everyone to be blessed, and we must be generous, as an individual and as a church. Proverbs 22:9 says, “Whoever has a bountiful eye will be blessed because they share their bread with the poor.”

Prayer:
1. Lord Jesus, I receive grace to be generous and be a blessing to those in need.
2. Psalm 112:5: Help me be generous to the needy and guide my affairs with discretion in Jesus’ name. Amen
