The JOY in Life!
“All the people followed him, playing flutes and rejoicing with such a great joy that the sound split the earth.” 1Kings 1:40
We have come across the word joy and speak of it many times, to the extent that to some people, it makes no deep meaning to the hear again. This three-letter word, ‘joy,’ that I choose we pronounce J. O. Y is a powerful word and God’s gift to us. The joy of the Lord is the one to be described as our hope, fortitude, and end in Christ Jesus.
When Adonijah set himself up as a king over Israel with self-will to rule the kingdom, his father, David, use the nobler wisdom and sound of joy to overthrow him. The joy of the Lord is not only for people who have it all but also for those who have faith that God will bring them out of their misery. The joy is in you; therefore, use it every moment.
Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Every one of us has the opportunity to display the joy of the Lord every day, but some people have decided not to take advantage of it. Though, we all have a choice to make. We can be happy or unhappy when no attachment is present. Whatever we choose, we must remember that God is faithful, and whatever He does, it will always remain marvelous in our eyes.
Displaying the joy in your heart is the best way to win a battle without lifting a finger or even saying anything. It is also one of the most important things you can do for yourself in life because it can drive away all the negative emotions from your mind. That’s Jesus came with the word to show us how to live a joyful life. He said: “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:11
Prayer:
Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
