The JOY in Life! 2

“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22

Joy follows us like a shadow that reminded us that we still exist. Of course, it’s an emotional dimension as people see it through our eyes. But when we are truly joyful, it is more spiritual than we can imagine because its nature revives our soul and make us feel better about ourselves. It forces grievances, depression, failure, and even sickness out of mind and body.

The Psalmist, at different times, talks about the Joy of the Lord. Nehemiah, in his writings, expressed that the Joy of the Lord as his strength. Don’t you think this subject needs your careful consideration, attention, and transformed disposition? What are those things you have been robbed off just because you had no joy? No matter how demanding and challenging the situation, JOY of the Lord will grant you the inner strength needed to meet life endeavors.

Psalm 32:11 says, “Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!”

The devil seeks to attack your joy because he knows this is what keeps you going. This is the strength and vigor of life. Your family is doing well when you have joy, but when you lose your joy, you see attacks more here and there. You may not know what the joy of the Lord does for you until you sacrifice it on the altar of challenging and depressing situations of life.

Be like Jesus today, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despise the shame, and is sitting at the right hand of God. Meanwhile, joy is not circumstantial or eventual. It is a life you live when you abide in the presence of the Lord. At the presence of the Lord, there is the fullness of joy. Crave the presence of God today and seek His abiding presence, where you have joy in its fullness. Philippians 4:4 says, “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again–rejoice!”

Prayer:
• I am grateful, oh Lord because my soul rejoices with the truth of your love; I am filled.
• Oh Lord, let your joy continue to flow like a river in my heart in Jesus’ name.
