“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:2
Embracing a Kingdom mindset starts with understanding our identity in Christ. Much like the ancient proverb, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he, we are reminded that our self-perception shapes our reality (Proverbs 23:7). When we see ourselves through the lens of God’s Word, acknowledging that we are royal heirs to His Kingdom, our lives begin to align with the abundance Jesus promised.
Consider the story of David, a young shepherd boy who was anointed king long before claiming his throne. Despite facing Goliath and countless adversities, David’s understanding of his God-given identity empowered him to live victoriously. Similarly, when we recognize and embrace our identity as children of God, we tap into a reservoir of strength and grace that enables us to overcome life’s Goliaths.
Romans 8:11 says, “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”
Jesus emphasized this when He said, the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). This abundant life isn’t limited to material riches but encompasses peace, joy, love, and purpose. We cultivate a mindset that attracts these blessings by focusing on our spiritual heritage and kingdom principles.
Remember the mustard seed analogy? Even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). If we anchor our identities in Christ’s love and promises, nurturing them with even the smallest measure of faith, there’s no limit to what we can achieve for His glory. Let us then approach each day with hearts fixed on Heaven—assured of who we are in Him—and watch how our lives beautifully unfold by His divine plan. Amen. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. Amen.
Prayer for the Day!
Oh Lord, we humbly come before Your throne, seeking a Kingdom mindset that aligns with Your will and purposes. Grant us the wisdom to see beyond earthly desires and focus on eternal treasures stored in heaven. Help us prioritize building Your Kingdom by loving others as ourselves and spreading the Gospel to all nations. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
