In 1 Corinthians 11:24-25, Paul recounts how Jesus took bread and wine and declared them His body and blood, signifying a new covenant. This act invites us to reflect on the depth of His love and the enormity of His sacrifice. Each time we partake in communion, we remember what Christ did for us and reaffirm our identity as His followers. 1 Corinthians 11:26 reminds us, “For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
