The Misplaced Priority!

The Misplaced Priority!

“Why do you spend money for what is not bread? And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance.” Isaiah 55:2

Misplace priority can take place in many people’s lives and situations. We all tend to underestimate or overestimate our importance in our daily activities, relationships, family, work, and even personal life. It is important to remember that our circumstances and the things we set our priorities on can also limit us. Because our growth and development also depend on how we set our priorities.

God’s priorities are more than just money if we think deeply about it. That is why many hardworking men and women have nothing to show off because of misplaced priority. So likewise, in the church, we should always be careful with our priorities because you might be active in the church, and yet God is saying, “I don’t know you, depart from me.” Because sometimes, God’s thoughts and His ways are not like yours, but if you seek Him first and follow him in truth, He will lead you.

Isaiah 55:8 says, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”

According to today’s verse, our priority in this race should be the bread and the things that can satisfy us. And that bread is the word of God (John 6:35); the word of God is the breath of God (2 Timothy 3:16); the breath of God holds the spirit and life of God (See Genesis 2:7 and John 6:63). The spirit and life of God in you make you become like God (John 10:35) with authority to rule and dominate. Likewise, the spirit and life of God in you will give you a new heart, one that is filled with love, joy, and peace. Romans 8:14 says, “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.”

Therefore, invest your time and money (God’s resources) to get that bread (the word of God) and labor for that which will satisfy your soul. The word of God says Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. Set the priority right now while the Lord is still near because no time to waste. I pray you will not waste your time on things that don’t serve you in Jesus’ name. Amen. Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.”

Prayer:
1. Father, give me a listening heart to set my priorities rightly in Jesus’ name.
2. I canceled every plan of the devil to make me do things that are not pleasing to God in Jesus’ name.
