The Power of Small Acts of Kindness! Part Three

“Learn to do right; seek justice and correct the oppressor. Defend the fatherless and plead the case of the widow.” Isaiah 1:17

The idea of true kindness is not only an act of giving or helping others but also a way of life that manifests in both big and small ways. It is an outward expression of an inward attitude of compassion and selflessness. When one truly decides to live lives of kindness, it “breaks the yoke” of oppression and bondage. It sets people free from the chains that bind them, literally and figuratively. Kindness can help break the cycle of negative thinking and connect you with your helpers of destiny.

We often think of fasting and prayer as the only things that can truly break the yoke from our lives. However, we see in Isaiah 58 that it is also essential to be kind to others. When we help those burdened and oppressed, we live out God’s call to love our neighbor. This brings true freedom and releases us from the heavy yoke of sin and oppression. Unfortunately, too often, we forget about the importance of kindness. We get so focused on our fasting and prayer that we forget to extend a helping hand to those struggling. Ignoring people who truly need your help when you have is not just selfish; it’s also wickedness.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.

Brethren, if you have been fasting and praying with no result, I encourage you to add kindness. Isaiah 58:6-8 says, “this is the kind of fasting I want: Free those wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free and remove the chains that bind people. Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help. “Then your salvation will come like the dawn, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the LORD’s glory will protect you from behind. Amen.

That passage from Isaiah needs no further explanation because the fasting God is looking for is not going without food or drink but rather being kind to those in need and sharing what you have with them. This fasting will break the yoke of oppression from your neck and set you free. Whatever you want to break free from, you name it – a financial breakthrough, barrenness, depression, spiritual attack, or whatever you are feeling right now. I am sure you will experience the full release of God’s promises if you are willing to show kindness to others because No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Amen. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Amen.

Prayer:
1. Lord Jesus, thank you for reaching out to me with compassion and love and giving me the strength to enjoy the goodness of the Lord.
2. Oh Lord, amidst this unbelieving world, I pray you to grant me an inner eye to see those in need in Jesus’ name. Amen.
