The Power of Your Mind! 2

The Power of Your Mind! 2

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.” Proverb 23:7

The mind is an incredibly powerful tool and can be used for good or bad. Therefore, it is essential to learn how to use your mind positively and focus on the good things in life. The mind is like a muscle; if you train it properly and practice its strength, your body will become stronger and more capable of handling any situation. So therefore, keep your mind strong and healthy because the quality of your mind can largely determine the extent of your achievement in life. That’s why 1 Peter 1:13 says, “therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Our mind can be considered a seat of feelings or thoughts because it is the intelligence faculty of every human being. The mind has the ability to think and reason. Your value in life is basically dependent on how you make use of your mind. This is why a mad man or woman is not recognized because they don’t have a sane or valuable mind, and therefore they need help from society. You are a person of great value and worth, but your value is essentially dependent on how you use the whole of your mind. Your mind is as important as your spirit and living because you cannot be saved or function well without your mind.

Luke 6:45 says, “The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”

Without a healthy mind, you cannot have a succinct belief because the place of belief is not the spirit but the mind. Your mind is the gateway to your life. Nothing gets to you without first passing through your mind. No wonder the bible says, “guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow springs of life.” (Prov 4:23). This statement talks about paying absolute attention to your mind because your mind determines your ultimate worth in life. Therefore, keep your mind healthy.

Keep your mind healthy by getting rid of negative thought patterns you have picked up over the years. These thoughts can be very harmful and keep you from living a healthy Christian life. Let that unforgiveness and bitterness go because it is time you replace these thoughts with positive ones that will help you grow in your faith. You must also remember that God has given you the ability to choose what kind of person you want to become. If you are not happy with who you are, then change your attitude towards yourself so that God’s peace can reign in your life in Jesus’ name, amen. Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Prayer points:
1. Father Lord, I want my mind to be aligned with your will and desire for my life.
2. Oh Lord, help me have a positive attitude towards life and make me a better person in Jesus’ name. Amen.
