The Secret of Longevity! Part Two

“You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.” Deuteronomy 5:33

Longevity is something that everyone wants. We all want to live a long, full life. But what does longevity actually mean? Longevity is not just about living a long life. It is about living a good life, a life full of happiness and joy, a life full of purpose and meaning. That is why the major key factor in longevity is the presence of God in human life, not just during times of spiritual revival but throughout life because the wisdom that comes from knowing and loving God will prolong the life (Proverbs 9:10-11).

That is why Deuteronomy 5:33 says, “You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may go well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess.” The key to Biblical longevity is following God’s commandments. Moses was 120 years old when he died, and other biblical figures lived for many years. Living a life according to God’s word allows us to enjoy His blessings of long life and health. In addition, we can enjoy the abundant life that God has given to us through Christ Jesus.

Psalm 16:11 says, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forever.”

The Bible is clear that God desires for us to enjoy longevity. Therefore, to experience this blessing, we must grow spiritually and keep making spiritual progress. Remember what Romans 6:23 said, that ” the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” In other words, we must also stay away from the things that irritate God. If we do these things, we can be assured that God will richly bless us with long life. Of course, there are no guarantees in this life. But by obeying God, we set ourselves up for His favor and protection. And as we walk with Him, we can be assured of a good life – both in this world and the next.

Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This verse tells us that God always works for our good no matter what happens in our lives. He wants us to live a long, happy life. He wants us to be fulfilled and content in this life. So how do we achieve longevity? There is no simple answer to this question. But one thing is sure: we can’t achieve longevity on our own without God. Exodus 33:14 God said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Prayer:
1. Psalm 23:6 Oh Lord, let your goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life, that I may dwell in your house forever in Jesus’ name.
2. “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.” in Jesus’ name. Amen.
