The Tongue, the Agent of Blessing! 2

The Tongue, the Agent of Blessing! 2

A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.” Proverbs 15:4

The tongue can be a source of blessing or curse, depending on how we use it. It is an agent or servant of the heart that helps us project our thoughts and feelings into others. When we speak with our tongues, it is like a mirror reflecting what we have inside us. That is why it is fascinating when Jesus said, “The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.” Matthew 12:37.

For example, when father Abraham was asked by God to sacrifice his only legitimate son Isaac in the land of Moriah, it was captivated by how he responded to every question and challenge. At first, He commanded his servants to remain in a specific location, that he and Isaac will return after they made a sacrifice to the Lord. Despite the fact, the Lord had given him a command to sacrifice the boy. Are you confident about speaking life to yourself? Do you believe in the power of faith?

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

While Abraham and Isaac proceeded alone into the mount for sacrifice: Isaac questioned his father: “The fire and the wood are here,” said Isaac, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Instead of Abraham being irritated about God’s request and yell at the boy to keep quiet, but he replied, “God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And indeed, God did provide the lamb for the burnt offering as declared in Genesis 22:1–19. Up till today, we called Abraham, the father of the Prophet.

Therefore, brother and sister, don’t let your circumstance hinder the way you speak and act in life. Instead of speaking a negative word over your business, children, marriage, ministry, etc. because of circumstances that surround you, I encourage you to use this opportunity to speak positively about God’s plan for you and his purpose in your life. Then believe that he is with you when all else fails. Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.”

Prayer:
1. Lord, I thank you so much for the blessing that I have received from you daily to help me live my life as Christ intended.
2. Psalm 19:14: Oh Lord, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.” In Jesus’ name. Amen
