The True Circumcision!
“For we are the circumcision, which worships God in the spirit, and rejoices in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.” Philippians 3:3
According to the covenant between God and Abraham, which states that anyone born of him or a servant not circumcised is not entitled to God’s blessings. And it is carried out by cutting out the foreskin of their manhood. However, we discovered that what God wants is a symbolic representation of the covenant is the circumcision of the heart. (Rom 2:2… circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter.)
In the old testament, Moses also admonished the children of Israel to circumcise their heart, Deut 10:16 “Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and stiffen your necks no more.” Never for once have they fulfilled this requirement; hence, the burning passion for the truth in Stephen made him chastise Israel’s descendants (Acts 7:51). We are the sons of Abraham by faith, not by physical lineage or outward circumcision.
Deuteronomy 30:6 says, “The Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.”
Those who are son’s of Abraham by faith do worship God in the spirit (John 4:24). There is a righteousness provided for us in Christ Jesus, which is complete and perfect righteousness. None can benefit from it by trusting in themselves or by relying on others. That’s why if you give your heart to Christ for circumcision, He will provide you with all that is needed to be saved. When you trust Him, He will take care of you and make sure you are presentable for the Lord.
Therefore, render your heart to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior by faith. Faith in Christ is the appointed means of applying for the saving benefit. It is by faith in Christ blood; we are made conformable to Christ’s death. No other things will constitute a ground of hope; nothing can give reliance for salvation. Hence, we should live soberly and righteously in this present world. Galatians 5:6 says, “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.”
