Understanding the Message of Christ as Mediator!
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and humanity, the man Christ Jesus” 1 Timothy 2:5
Understanding the message of Christ as Mediator is an essential part of a Christian’s faith. Jesus Christ was sent to Earth to be the ultimate mediator between God and Man, providing a way for us to be reconciled with our Creator. Through his life and teachings, Jesus showed us how to love one another and how we can have a direct relationship with God through faith in His Son. Jesus’s mission on Earth centered around being a mediator between God and humanity. He taught about the importance of humility, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and love for one another and ourselves, all of which are vital components of a strong connection with our Heavenly Father.
Remember that the expected relationship between God and humanity was broken in the Garden of Eden. Human being lost their mutual connection with the almighty God, and the proper mode of worship and interaction was not regained until our mediator appeared. Jesus, our loving mediator, brought back the privilege for every human to speak and to hear from God. We could worship in spirit and truth again, unlike when people worship and live in fear of God. Our only worry now is to honor and reference God as our father. Jesus has done the best for us by standing as an intermediary between humans and God. He went through the cross, prayed breathtakingly, fasted, and suffered from learning obedience to ensure that the two parties came to a mutual consensus.
Isaiah 53:5 says, “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes, we are healed.”
Everyone who believed has been transformed by this incredible act of Jesus being the mediator. And this same means of transformation remains our testimony; that Jesus came to this world, suffered, and died for us to present us blameless and holy before God (Colossians 1:21-22). Henceforth, we are privileged to stand in the presence of God without condemnation or guilt. We could enter the temple and give pure and sincere worship to our God. Understand that Jesus is our mediator and embrace the privilege.
Brethren, Christ’s role as mediator goes beyond simply reconciling humans to God. He also serves to intercede on our behalf in prayer before God. He is constantly advocating for us and making petitionary prayers to ensure that we are always connected to the Father in Heaven through Him. Furthermore, he provides divine guidance and instruction so that we may have abundant life and live life according to the will of God in all areas: relationships, work, finances, and so on. Amen. “Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, set your focus on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.” Hebrews 3:1
Prayer:
Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifices, for your love, and for the privilege you have given me to stand before God again. I ask for your grace to continue in you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
