” And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

Have you considered increasing your faith as you face those challenges? Drawing upon our faith and holding onto those principles can give us strength during times when our future may feel uncertain. It allows us to stay focused on our goals no matter how difficult they seem. Faith and Perseverance are like a ship and its oars. Just as a ship without oars cannot move forward, so too, without faith and perseverance, one cannot achieve anything worthwhile. But with faith and perseverance, the impossible becomes possible.

We all know that faith is the cornerstone of any successful journey. It’s the key to believing in yourself and having a strong, resilient mindset to face hardships head-on. Paul wrote to the church in Philippi, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13). This is a declaration of faith and perseverance. No matter what life throws our way, we can overcome it through faith in God and perseverance. Discouraging circumstances, lack of support, and outright opposition will not deter someone with faith and perseverance. These two virtues help us face our fears and press on amid trials.

1 John 5:4 says, “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”

To move forward in our lives, we need to be like a ship with oars despite the obstacles in our path-because faith and perseverance are like a boat and its oars. The boat is faith, which must remain steady to reach the destination, while the oars are perseverance, which continuously powers the journey forward. Likewise, we can also say faith and perseverance are like a rock climber attempting to reach the summit of a mountain. The climber has a goal in mind and is willing to put in the hard work necessary to achieve it. They are not afraid of getting dirty or sweaty, taking risks, or making mistakes.

The climber understands that these things are all part of the journey. The same applies to people who want to grow in their faith and succeed. There will be challenges, but we can reach the summit with perseverance and faith in God. We can achieve anything we set our hearts to with faith and perseverance. So may we all be encouraged to keep climbing, knowing that we can reach the summit of any mountain in our lives in Jesus’ name. Amen. Hebrews 11:6 says, “without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” Amen.

1. Oh Lord, increase my faith! I seek your guidance and courage from above to take that step forward into uncharted territory according to your Will.
2. May the Lord bless you with His presence so you can live each day knowing His everlasting love is with you wherever you go, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
