Uprooting Fear Through Trust in God! Part Two
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
Too often, we allow fear to take root in our lives and dictate our actions. Fear can keep us from following our dreams, from being our authentic selves, and from trusting others. In Psalm 37, the writer encourages us to trust in God instead of fear because God wants the best for us and will always be there for us. When we trust in Him, we can overcome our fears and be free to live our lives to the fullest. We don’t need to be afraid of the future because God is in control.
In this year, 2022, many have experienced an unexpected faith journey. Some have praised God through the hard times and have seen His hand in their life, while others have cried out in frustration, wondering why He has not answered their prayers. Whether you’re questioning your faith or standing firm on what you believe, it is important to remember that God always remains faithful despite what we experience. A relationship with Him starts with a small seed of trust planted deep within our hearts. Then, as we nurture our belief, it grows into a strong oak tree that can uphold us no matter what storms come our way.
Psalm 37:4-5 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust him, and he will act.”
Navigating unexpected faith journeys with God are no easy task, especially when fear is a major factor. Yet, God offers us the hope and courage to uproot fear through trust in Him. As we near the end of 2022, and move into 2023, it is essential that we take steps to build our faith by trusting in God’s promises. You may have spent much of 2022 feeling overwhelmed by worry, but this upcoming year presents an opportunity for spiritual refreshment and renewal. Therefore, I encourage you to uproot your fear through trust and embrace yourself so that you can see the assurance that God is present in all situations, regardless of how challenging you may be.
And as you seek out His guidance, strength, and peace regardless of your circumstances, you will walk confidently into the future, knowing He will never forsake you or leave you alone. God is not silent! No matter where along the spectrum one falls, it’s important to remember that God is not absent – He can always be trusted to lead us through our fear, even when we feel alone. With committed trust in His plan, we can end this trying year with hope despite any struggles that may come our way. Amen. Psalm 55:22 says, “Cast your burden upon the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.”
Prayer:
1. Lord, I thank you for standing by me, my family, and my friends throughout the year!
2. Romans 15:13: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
