Walking in the Victory of Christ Jesus! Part Three
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
As believers, we must understand that our victory is not in ourselves but in God’s word. In Joshua 1:8, God gave Joshua specific instructions on how to be successful as the leader of Israel. He told him to meditate on his word day and night, obey it completely, and not turn from it. This instruction was crucial for Joshua’s success, and it remains relevant for us today. Remember, the believer’s victory is like a runner in a race, striving for the finish line. God’s word is the fuel that sustains us throughout the journey and helps us cross the finish line successfully.
By following God’s instructions as spoken through His word and putting them into practice daily, we can experience the same success that Joshua did. We must commit ourselves to studying God’s word regularly so that we can fully comprehend our purpose and what God has planned for us. And when trials arise, we can draw strength from His promises found in His Word. As we put our trust in Him while living out His commands daily, true victory will follow!
Deuteronomy 17:19 says, “It is to remain with him, and he is to read from it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear the LORD his God by carefully observing all the words of this instruction and these statutes.”
The believer’s victory is like a sailboat relying on the wind to carry it forward. God’s word is the wind that propels us toward success. I remember a story of a young lady named Samantha. When she was growing up, she always felt empty because people mocked her about her status. However, one day she decided to turn things around by reading and studying God’s word. One of her favorite verses is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” She discovered that her victory was in it, not material possessions or career accomplishments.
After years of devotion to the Bible, Samantha became a renowned preacher, inspiring countless souls with her sermons, including her atheist parents, who started attending her sermons regularly. One of her sweet analogies is, “The believer’s victory is like a runner in a race, striving for the finish line. God’s word is the fuel that sustains us throughout the journey and helps us cross the finish line successfully.” Likewise, You require unwavering faith to enjoy all the good works that Jesus Christ has wrought in us. You need to believe and speak the word of God in action. Amen. Proverbs 30:5 says, “Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.” Amen.
1. Oh Lord, I hold on to your word; sanctify me in the truth so that I may be saved.
2. May the word of God be a lamp to all your endeavor and a light to your career, relationship, business, and ministry in Jesus’ name. Amen.
