“Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” Exodus 3:10
Have you ever experienced a moment in your life where everything seemed to align perfectly as if it were orchestrated by a higher power? A moment when you felt chosen, selected for a greater purpose? In the book of Exodus, we witness an awe-inspiring event that forever changed the trajectory of Moses’ life. As he tended his flock one day on Mount Horeb, Moses came across an unusual sight – a burning bush that was not consumed by the flames.
It was in this burning bush space that God revealed His unmistakable presence and called out to Moses with these resounding words: Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh so that you may bring my people out of Egypt. (Exodus 3:10). Imagine standing before a burning bush being engulfed in holy fire while hearing the voice of Almighty God Himself summoning you to carry out His divine mission.
Exodus 3:11 says, “But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?”
Overwhelmed and bewildered, like Moses at that pivotal moment when tending sheep turned into leading nations, have there been instances in your own life where you felt undeservedly chosen by God? Or you have miraculously experienced God, and you knew if God didn’t show up, something ridiculous might have happened to your enemy. So, brethren, these are moments worth reflecting upon – when grace intervened amidst uncertainty or insignificance and entrusted us with something beyond our wildest imaginations.
An old saying among believers is that God doesn’t call the equipped; He equips the called. This profound truth reminds us that often, it is not our own inherent abilities or qualifications but rather divine empowerment bestowed upon us that enables us to fulfill God’s purposes. Just like how Moses initially doubted his capabilities and questioned whether he was worthy enough for such a monumental task, we too may grapple with self-doubt when confronted with opportunities carrying great responsibility. Don’t write yourself off yet. Amen. Luke 1:37 says, “For nothing will be impossible with God.” Amen.
Prayer for the Day.
Oh Lord, grant me the grace to believe in your unfailing love and to hold onto hope even when circumstances seem bleak. Help me to surrender my fears and insecurities, placing my full confidence in your power and wisdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
